Mission Statement: STEM Pathfinder is a cost-free program that encourages entry into the health sciences workforce by introducing local high school students to a wide range of career paths. Ochsner healthcare professionals from across many disciplines provide mentorship to the program scholars, preparing them to make intentional career decisions.

COVID-19: Student and patient safety is a top priority. COVID-19 vaccination is a requirement to participate. Students who aren't vaccinated can still participate but will be required to wear a mask for the duration of the program. What are the different parts of the STEM Pathfinder Application?
Students will be asked to provide the following:
A) General Student Information - Please be prepared to provide:
- General demographic information
- Current school details
- Parent/guardian information
B) Short Answer - Respond to the following with a minimum of 5-10 sentences (can be answered with a short video):
- Tell us about a time you served your community.
- Why do you want to participate in this program?
C) School Transcript or Report Card
- Upload a copy of your most recent school transcript or report card. Unofficial copies are acceptable.
D) One (1) Letter of Recommendation - You will need the recommender's name and email address.
- A request will automatically be sent to your recommender after you complete the "Recommender Request" section of your application.
- Talk to your recommender before and after submitting their information to ensure they receive the submission link.
- REMEMBER, it is the student's responsibility to make sure the recommendation is completed on time.
